Eligibility For Admission In BIM

The candidate applying for Bachelor of Information Management program must have:

  1. Successfully completed a twelve-year schooling (+2) or equivalent from any University, Board or Institution recognized by TU.
  2.  secured a minimum second division (45%) or minimum Grade 1.8 in each subject in 10+2.

Admission Criteria For BIM in Nepal

The students of any field scoring 45% can apply for BIM – CMAT exam and after successfully passing the CMAT exam conducted by TU. The shortlisted Passed candidates will be interviewed and selected for admission. Then the students are qualified to attend the class.

Examination, Evaluation and Grading System

The BIM program will be executed through the semester system. There will be altogether eight semesters required to complete the regular program. The internal evaluation shall carry 40 percent weight while the external (end of the semester) examination will carry 60 percent weight. The final grade shall be determined on the overall performance in the internal and external examinations.

Passing Grade and Grading System

Students must secure a minimum of grade ‘C” or Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 in the internal evaluation in order to qualify to appear in the semester examination. In order to pass the semester examination, the student must secure Grade ‘C’ or the average Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0. The student who secures a Semester Grade of ‘D’ is not promoted to the next semester.

Credit Transfer & Withdrawl :

Credits earned by student can be transferred to other universities recognized by Tribhuvan University. The maximum credit transfer allowed to a student shall be 30 credit hours. The faculty of management has the authority to decide a credit transfer.

A student who has partially completed the BIM program and would like to discontinue his/her studies shall also be allowed to withdraw from the program. In such cases, a certificate specifying the credit earned by the student in the program shall be provided.

CSIT Eligibility Criteria :

The candidate applying for BSc CSIT program must have:

  • Successfully completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics..
  • Secured a minimum grade C in each subject.
    Note: Regarding A Level, students should have secured minimum grade D in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.


In order to get admission in the CSIT program, a student should fill up the Entrance Application Form from any of the Affiliated or Constituent Colleges offering CSIT course and should pass the Entrance Examination conducted by Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), TU and then can get the admission at the respective colleges.

Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) is a four year (eight semester) degree course of Tribhuvan University. The main objective of this degree is to provide the student with the skills necessary to perform leadership roles in the business and corporate world. This course emphasizes much more on leadership and management skills development. The program covers 120 credit hours.

The BBS is a four-year Bachelor Degree program in business.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission:

Those students who have secured minimum grade D+ in each subject in 10+2 or equivalent are eligible to apply for admission. College will select the students for admission from the eligible applicant on the basis of interview.

Minimum General Requirements

The minimum general requirements for the 4-years BBS programme are as follows:

  • An academic year will consist of a minimum of 150 teaching days excluding the days taken for admission and annual examinations.
  • The total instructional hours in an academic year will be 615 (150 days x 4:10 hours a day). For courses requiring field and practical works, additional hours of study will be required.
  • There will be a minimum of five periods (i.e. class hours) each teaching day. The campuses running morning or evening shifts will also be required to meet this minimum class requirement.

Attendance, Evaluation and Grading System

  • The student must have a minimum of 70 percent attendance of the classes actually held.
  • No student will be allowed to appear in the second year final examinations without first appearing in the first year final examinations.

The grading system in the annual examinations is as follows:

  • Third Division 35 Percent
  • Second Division 45 Percent
  • First Division 60 Percent
  • Distinction 75 Percent

Graduation Requirements

The BBS programme extends over three academic years and the BBS degree is awarded on its successful completion. All candidates for BBS degree must fulfill the following requirements:
  • The successful completion of 2000 marks as prescribed with passing grades in all the courses.
  • The passing scores obtained in all theory and practical components of the course separately.
  • Completion of courses for the fulfillment of BBS programme must occur within the time limit as prescribed by Tribhuvan University
